James Cameron Accused of Stealing 14-Year-Old Girl’s Face for Main Character of Billion-Dollar “Avatar” Films

Q’orianka Kilcher has sued James Cameron and Disney, alleging they used a photo of her from age 14 to help design Avatar’s Neytiri without permission or pay.

She says the image came from The New World and that the alleged use may violate California’s deepfake-related law and likeness-rights protections.

The case could influence how studios use real people’s faces, especially minors, in effects-heavy films and blockbuster character design.
