Google Cloud responds to AI-accelerated cyberattacks with a platform that aims to close security gaps in minutes

Google Cloud launched AI Threat Defense, an enterprise security platform built to find vulnerabilities, judge exploitability, generate fixes, and watch for active attacks.

The system combines Gemini, Wiz, Codemender, Mandiant, and Google Security Operations agents to automate more of the patching and response workflow.

Google says AI-powered attackers can weaponize flaws far faster than traditional patch cycles, making automated remediation increasingly necessary.

The key question is whether AI-generated patches will be reliable enough for production systems, where speed must not come at the cost of safety.
