How to use Google’s new AI agents to go beyond your standard searches

At Google I/O 2026, Google introduced customizable Search agents that can monitor topics, synthesize updates from multiple sources, and send alerts.

The new agents shift Search from reactive queries to always-on AI assistance for news, markets, travel, sports, and other ongoing interests.

Google also unveiled a redesigned, more conversational Search experience built around AI Mode.

The rollout starts this summer for U.S. Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers.
