Dyson finally made a better robot, but a worse vacuum

Dyson’s Spot + Scrub Ai is its most capable robot floor-cleaner yet, with strong mopping, improved navigation, and a multifunction dock.

The robot’s vacuum system, however, appears to rely on partner-made hardware rather than Dyson’s own motor technology.

That makes the launch a sign of progress for Dyson’s robot lineup, but also of its growing dependence on outside suppliers to keep up with rivals like Roborock, Ecovacs, iRobot, Eufy, and Shark.
