Kobo's price hike on two-year-old e-readers couldn't come at a worse time

Kobo raised prices on its current U.S. and Canada e-reader lineup, with the Clara BW and Clara Colour up $20 and the Libra Colour up $30.

The models are about two years old, and the increase may reflect tariffs and higher component costs.

The move makes Kobo less competitive against Kindle in a small, price-sensitive market.

It also comes as Amazon’s Kindle brand is dealing with its own recent issues.
