‘Googlebooks’ have a premium focus, some Chromebooks can be upgraded

Google teased Googlebook as a new Android-based platform that could replace ChromeOS on future laptops.

Existing Chromebooks will keep receiving updates and support, and many models may be eligible to move to Googlebook.

Google says the new experience will focus on premium devices and support Intel, Qualcomm, and MediaTek hardware.

Partner laptops from companies like Samsung, Dell, and Lenovo could launch with Googlebook in fall 2026.
