Stephen King unreservedly recommends Netflix’s new No. 1: it’s “an absolute pleasure”

Netflix’s new series The Boroughs: Rebel Retirement debuted strongly with 5.6 million global views and quickly rose to the top of the platform.

Created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews and starring Alfred Molina, the show blends horror and sci-fi with a veteran cast including Geena Davis and Bill Pullman.

Stephen King praised the series on the day of release, calling it “an absolute pleasure” and noting that all episodes are already available.

The endorsement could boost the show’s visibility as Netflix looks to build new genre franchises after Stranger Things.
