Iran reportedly attacked AWS-related facility in Bahrain, overseas outlets say

Financial Times and Reuters reported on April 1 that an Amazon cloud-related facility in Bahrain was attacked and linked the attack to Iran.

Bahrain's Interior Ministry said a company's facility caught fire and firefighting was underway, but did not name the company or report casualties.

AWS's status site showed an outage in the ME-SOUTH-1 region on April 2, which AWS attributed to a March drone attack; effects from the reported attack are unclear.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had announced on March 31 plans to target US tech sites in the Middle East as retaliation.
