UK reportedly urges Anthropic to expand its London presence

The UK government has prepared proposals to expand Anthropic's London office and explore a dual stock listing.

The UK increased efforts to court Anthropic after the company's dispute with the US Department of Defense.

Anthropic refused to change certain AI guardrails, prompting the DoD to pull a contract and designate it a supply chain risk, a designation now temporarily blocked by a court.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is expected to visit the UK in May while Anthropic would compete with OpenAI in London.
