GitHub veteran Brian Douglas launches Paper Compute to fix AI agent infrastructure

Former GitHub and open-source leaders Brian Douglas and John McBride launched Paper Compute.

The company is building open-source infrastructure to run, observe, and constrain AI agents in production.

Its first tools include Tapes, an observability layer, and StereOS, a sandboxed Linux-based operating system.

The goal is to give teams the visibility and guardrails needed to operate AI agents safely at scale.
