Researchers used U.S. health records from TriNetX to compare vaccinated patients with similar unvaccinated patients over the following year.

The findings hint that vaccines such as Shingrix or Zostavax may offer cardiovascular benefits beyond preventing shingles.

If confirmed, the results could add a new preventive tool for older adults and people with existing heart disease.
