Sony Has Acquired AI Company Cinemersive Labs

Sony announced on April 2 that it agreed to acquire UK AI firm Cinemersive Labs for an undisclosed sum.

Cinemersive Labs, founded in 2022, builds computer vision tools that convert images into six-degrees-of-freedom 3D media.

Sony plans to add the company to its PlayStation Visual Computing Group, a machine learning R&D unit for rendering and streaming.

Cinemersive's Parallax app for Meta Quest launched in March 2025 and had a 4.7-star rating in April 2026.
