Super Mario becomes the only animated movie series to open globally at more than $350 million twice

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie earned $372.5 million worldwide in its five-day opening after its April 1 release.

The film had a $110 million production budget and made $190 million domestically in its five-day opening.

Its opening makes Super Mario the first animated franchise to post two global openings above $350 million.

The film has a 42% critics score and an 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, while rankings place it among Illumination's biggest openings.
