Amazon’s color screen Kindles are finally getting a system-wide dark mode

Amazon is rolling out a software update for Kindle Colorsoft and Scribe Colorsoft devices.

The update adds a system-wide dark mode with per-section controls to make the color E Ink interface easier to use in low light.

Scribe Colorsoft notebooks also get Smart Shapes and freehand snap-to-shape tools for cleaner note-taking.

The changes improve readability on Amazon’s color Kindles and add productivity features for handwriting users.
