MediaTek’s new Dimensity chip is designed for budget foldables

MediaTek unveiled the Dimensity 7450 and 7450X, refreshed midrange chips based on the 7400 series.

Both chips keep the same CPU and GPU layout but add a new 5G Release 17 modem and up to 7% better AI performance.

The 7450X is designed for foldable phones and is expected to power a 2026 Motorola Razr refresh.

The update brings modest efficiency and AI gains to lower-cost devices, while helping make budget foldables more practical.
