Bolt Graphics Tapes Out Zeus GPU, Claims It Is 5x Faster Than NVIDIA's RTX 5090 in Path Tracing at Half the Power

Bolt Graphics says its Zeus GPU test chip has taped out at TSMC on a 12nm process.

Zeus is aimed at HPC, AI, and rendering, with PCIe card and 2U server variants planned.

The company claims up to 5x faster path tracing, 6x higher HPC performance, and lower power use than NVIDIA’s RTX 5090.

The tapeout moves Zeus from concept to real silicon, though the performance claims remain to be proven.
