Startup Says It’s Invented a Beanie That Reads Your Mind

Palo Alto startup Sabi unveiled the Sabi Cap, a beanie with EEG sensors that it says can turn brain activity into text.

The company claims its AI model can transcribe thoughts at about 30 words per minute and is trained on large amounts of volunteer data.

Sabi says a 2026 release is planned, but it has not shown independent evidence that the device works as claimed.

Researchers say EEG-to-text remains technically uncertain, even as a noninvasive wearable could be an alternative to implanted brain-computer interfaces.
