AMD to broaden and specialize EPYC CPUs, already working on Zen 7 architecture — increased customization to better address evolving AI and cloud needs

AMD says future EPYC generations will be more specialized, with separate chips tuned for general servers, AI infrastructure, and other data center workloads.

The next Zen 6 EPYC family, Venice, is part of that push, and AMD says it is already working on Zen 7 and later architectures.

The strategy reflects rising demand for workload-specific server CPUs in hyperscale cloud and AI, where customers want optimized silicon for different roles.
