Volkswagen not only has a solar plant with 31.00 panels: it also has a scientific experiment with 100 sheep

Volkswagen has brought in 100 local sheep to maintain vegetation around its 31,000-panel solar installation at the Września factory in Poland.

The sheep graze around the panels, replacing mowing equipment and helping cut maintenance costs and emissions.

Researchers at Poznań University of Life Sciences are studying the project’s effects on sheep welfare, pasture quality, soil, microclimate, and emissions.

The case highlights agrovoltaics as a way to share land more efficiently while testing its viability in a Central European climate.
