Amid LG Uplus IMSI controversy, Seoul YMCA says “termination fees should be waived”

Seoul YMCA’s civic rights center said LG Uplus’s IMSI design and management problems have turned a security risk into a real threat.

The group urged LG Uplus to notify all customers of the risk and waive cancellation penalties.

It cited a KAIST hacking conference and online cases as evidence that IMSI tracking and call connection could be possible.

Seoul YMCA criticized the telecom carrier for failing to take enough protective measures.
