‘Marathon’ Extends PvE Mode Trial as Its Pivot Ramps Up

Bungie extended Marathon’s experimental PvE mode, Vault Breaker, to August 18.

Vault Breaker removes rival teams from Cryo Archive and turns the map into a solo or co-op PvE run with rewards tied to future gear.

The move supports Marathon’s broader shift away from a pure extraction shooter toward more PvE content.

Bungie is also planning a full, non-experimental PvE mode for season 3 and has discussed other future mode types, including PvP-only options.
