Face recognition introduced at Pokémon Card directly operated stores to curb repeated numbered ticket pickups and entries by the same person

Pokémon will introduce facial recognition at its directly operated Pokémon Card Stores to limit each person to one entry and one ticket pickup per day.

The system will be used at store entrances and when customers collect entry tickets, with rules also covering minors, consent, and re-entry.

The rollout begins July 31 at five stores, including Aeon Mall Natori, Chofu PARCO, Aeon Mall Higasuhara, Aeon Mall Hiroshima Fuchu, and Aeon Mall Chikushino.

The measure is meant to curb repeat visits and repeated ticket collection, improving fairness and store management at high-demand card shops.
