Ganfeng Lithium Begins Small-Scale Production of the World's First 500Wh/kg Solid-State Battery

Ganfeng Lithium says it has begun small-batch production of a 10Ah lithium-metal solid-state battery with an energy density of 500Wh/kg.

The company is also developing a silicon-anode version targeting 400Wh/kg with improved cycle life.

If the claim is validated at scale, it could mean longer EV range or lighter battery packs.

Ganfeng’s lithium supply strength and automaker ties could help it become an important solid-state battery supplier.
