YouTube Shorts will use AI to make avatars that look and sound like you

YouTube is adding AI avatars for Shorts, letting eligible creators generate videos using a face and voice modeled from a one-time selfie setup.

The feature works in the YouTube app and YouTube Create, and can turn prompt-based ideas into short clips.

To limit misuse, avatars are restricted to the account owner, and generated content includes watermarking and disclosure labels.

The rollout starts globally outside Europe for users 18+ with an existing channel.
