US ramps up turbine engine production with flight-quality superalloy castings

Rangeview Inc. won a development contract from Kratos Defense & Security Solutions to produce advanced investment-cast, flight-quality parts for next-generation turbine engines.

The project is meant to shorten long development timelines and expand U.S. casting capacity for critical superalloy components.

More domestic turbine-engine casting capacity could ease a key supply-chain bottleneck in defense propulsion.

That may help speed production of engines for drones and missile systems.
