Weather-monitoring firm hangs dark cloud over customers’ heads by forcing new app

AcuRite will shut down the My AcuRite app on May 30 and require users to move to the new AcuRite Now app.

The new app is built around Tuya’s SmartLife ecosystem, but some customers say it removes useful features like flexible sensor management and easier weather uploads.

A subscription is now needed for certain Weather Underground sharing options and extended weather history, angering users who had those features for free before.
