EU bars AI-generated content from official communications, according to Politico

The European Commission, Parliament, and Council barred press teams from using fully AI-generated videos and images in official communications.

The institutions said AI may be used only to optimize existing footage, and the Commission cited authenticity to maintain citizens' trust.

Politico cited statements from the three institutions and noted contrasting uses of AI by political figures in and outside the EU.
