PS5 price increases go global, rising up to $150 depending on the model

Sony will raise PS5 prices globally starting April 2; increases range $100–$150 depending on model across the US, Europe, the UK, Japan and other markets.

Affected hardware: PS5 Slim, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal.

US pricing: standard PS5 from $549 to $649; Digital Edition from $499 to $599; PS5 Pro from $749 to $899; PlayStation Portal from $199 to $249.

European pricing: PS5 Slim Disc Edition €549 to €649; Digital Edition €599; PS5 Pro €899; PlayStation Portal €249.

This is the second price hike in under a year and the third since the PS5's 2020 launch; Sony cites economic pressure and rising component costs—particularly memory shortages that have raised SSD, GPU and HDD prices—and some smartphone makers are cutting 2026–2027 forecasts.
