Deutsche Bahn to Modernize its Stations to Address Long-standing Infrastructure Issues

Deutsche Bahn plans to spend about €4 billion a year through 2030 to tackle years of neglect across Germany’s aging rail network.

The company aims to modernize more than 1,000 stations in 2026 and fully upgrade 710 stations by 2030.

It will also launch a €50 million cleanup-and-security program to improve station cleanliness and safety.

The push targets chronic delays and visible passenger problems, but it will also bring more construction and short-term disruption.
