Waymo Partners with Lyft to Roll out Robotaxi in Nashville, its 11th City - Tekedia

Waymo has launched commercial robotaxi service in Nashville, its 11th U.S. city, within a 60-square-mile area.

The service initially appears in the Waymo app and will later expand onto Lyft’s platform through a Flexdrive integration.

Waymo’s expansion adds to a broader robotaxi competition that includes Tesla, Zoox, Chinese players, and ride-hailing platforms seeking distribution.

The industry still faces high capital and operating costs, including sensors, software, remote assistance, charging, insurance, and maintenance.
