Humanoid robot takes over data collection and administrative work at a UK construction site

Tilbury Douglas has become the first major UK builder to deploy a humanoid robot, Douglas, on a live construction site.

The robot handles progress photos, LiDAR and 360-degree scanning, and administrative data collection to automate routine site tasks.

The company expects the trial to save about 40 hours of work each month.

The pilot is part of Tilbury Douglas’s digital transformation effort and could help construction firms tackle labor shortages and improve efficiency.
