After four generations of camera stagnation, the Galaxy S27 might finally get a new main sensor

Rumors say some Galaxy S27 and S27+ prototypes are being tested with a new 50MP Sony main camera sensor.

That would be a notable shift away from Samsung’s usual ISOCELL hardware for the standard Galaxy S lineup.

The ultrawide camera is still expected to remain at 12MP, with the rest of the setup largely unchanged.

A new main sensor could deliver a bigger image-quality boost than software tuning alone and break years of camera stagnation.
