X scraps its Communities feature... due to "0.4% usage" and "spam everywhere"; replacement is "group chats"

X said on April 23 it will shut down X Communities, a feature with usage below 0.4%.

The company plans to replace it with X Chat group chats that can scale to 1,000 people.

X Chat will also add public invite links so users can join more easily.

The move is meant to simplify X’s product lineup and reduce spam and scam-related abuse.
