World’s first: China completes 400V space power test aboard Tianzhou-10 for moon landing

China completed the world’s first orbital test of a 400V spacecraft power system aboard Tianzhou-10.

The system ran through two cycles successfully, with stable performance under radiation and temperature stress.

Developed by CAST’s Institute of Manned Space System Engineering, it uses SiC power electronics and domestic components.

The breakthrough reduces mass and power loss, clearing a key hurdle for crewed lunar missions, lunar bases, and future Mars systems.
