Gemini app rolling out ‘Extended’ thinking level, new 3rd-party app integrations

Google is rolling out a new Thinking level menu in the Gemini app for some users, with Standard and Extended options.

The new control appears for Fast and Gemini 3.1 Pro, giving users more say over how deeply Gemini reasons.

Support documents also point to upcoming third-party integrations with Canva, Instacart, and OpenTable.

These additions would expand Gemini’s reach from chat into creative work, shopping, and restaurant booking.
