Facebook Verified, which proves a person is real with a selfie video

Meta is introducing a free Facebook Verified badge that confirms users are real people through selfie video verification.

The rollout starts with Facebook users aged 18 and older in select markets, with more regions to follow.

The badge is designed to strengthen trust and safety on Facebook as AI-generated content and impersonation rise.

Verified users will have a clearer signal of authenticity across profiles and some Facebook features.
