US to build hypersonic weapon that can be launched from bomber to destroy high-value target

The U.S. Air Force plans to restart the paused AGM-183A ARRW hypersonic missile program.

It is seeking more than $296 million in Fiscal Year 2027 funding for the weapon.

The service is also preparing an Increment 2 version with a new seeker to hit moving targets, including ships.

If fielded, ARRW would give bombers a fast conventional standoff strike option against defended land and maritime targets.
