ETRI will advance an AI network linking data centers nationwide, calling it an ‘AI highway’ for faster and more efficient AI services.

The institute plans to invest 47.9 billion won through 2030 in AI-RAN research for 6G and next-generation wireless infrastructure.

ETRI is also expanding physical AI R&D for robots, autonomous driving, and smart factories, including robotics intelligence and digital twins.

The agency will strengthen standards work and industry-academia-government cooperation through forums and global groups such as 3GPP and O-RAN.
