iOS 27 Lets You Hide the Messages Button Everyone Hits by Mistake

Apple is adding a new Messages setting in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 to customize the text-field icon.

Users can choose the audio waveform, the dictation microphone, or no icon at all under Settings > Apps > Messages > Show in Text Field.

The change is meant to reduce accidental taps near Send that can trigger dictation or voice recording.

Voice messages and dictation will still be available through other Messages controls.
