Google previews Gemini Nano 4 for Android AICore, coming this year

Google previewed Gemini Nano 4 for Android in AICore Developer Preview as its next on-device AI model.

It comes in Fast and Full variants based on Gemma 4, with claims of better speed, lower latency, reasoning, math, time handling, and multimodal understanding.

Google says Gemini Nano 4 will arrive on new flagship Android devices later this year, and code built for Gemma 4 should work on those devices.

The update could boost offline, low-latency AI features on phones while giving developers an early target for upcoming devices.
