Samsung Shuts Down Messaging in 10 Weeks—Bad News for RCS

Samsung will phase out its Messages app, removing it from app stores in July and no longer preinstalling it on future Galaxy phones.

Galaxy users will be pushed toward Google Messages, with the change likely extending to upcoming models such as the Galaxy S26.

The move lands as Apple and carriers expand RCS capabilities, including planned end-to-end encryption.
