If Google can’t make AI agents useful, maybe no one can

Google unveiled new AI agent features at I/O 2026, including Gemini Spark and Daily Brief, to make assistants practical for everyday use.

The agents are designed to run continuously, connect across Google products and external services, and bring more generative AI into Search.

The push follows OpenClaw’s rise and has put pressure on rivals like OpenAI, which are also racing to ship usable long-running agents.
