Data centers become explicit targets in Middle East conflict as both sides strike facilities

Data centers in the Middle East have become explicit targets as the recent Iran-related conflict included strikes on facilities.

On March 3 AWS data centers in the UAE and Bahrain were hit by drone attacks and suffered heavy damage to some availability zones.

On March 12 Israeli and U.S. forces struck at least two Tehran data centers, one linked to military payrolls.

On March 13 Iran named seven U.S. tech firms as targets and tensions raised concerns about more attacks on regional cloud regions.
