Pokémon VGC Competitions Officially Transition To Pokémon Champions

VGC will transition to Pokémon Champions as the standard platform for competitive matches when Champions launches on Nintendo Switch on April 8, 2026.

Some Regional side events in April–May will use Champions, and Champions will be used at the Pokémon World Championships on August 29–30, 2026.

The Indianapolis Regional Championships (May 29–31, 2026) will be the first major event to feature Champions; registration opens April 1, 2026.

Global Challenge I is scheduled for May 1–4, 2026.

Pokémon Champions will be available on Switch (Switch 2 users receive a free visual-performance update at launch) and a mobile release is planned later in the year.
