Moon Astronaut Captures Shot of Earth That Lets You See Its Razor-Thin Atmosphere Perfectly

NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman captured a striking Earth photo from Artemis 2, showing the planet’s thin atmosphere, auroras, and zodiacal light.

The image, titled “Hello, World,” was taken as the Orion spacecraft departed Earth.

NASA says it serves as a modern counterpart to Apollo 17’s iconic “Blue Marble” photo.

The photo offers a rare non-satellite view of Earth and highlights how fragile its atmosphere appears from space.
