Grace Wethor On Her Decade Of Brain Cancer Since Given 6 Months To Live

Grace Wethor was initially told she had about six months to live after diagnosis of an inoperable brain-stem glioma.

Contrary to that prognosis, her tumor remained stable over the following decade.

The glioma is still considered inoperable and chemotherapy and radiation remain ineffective.

She follows a wait-and-watch approach: MRI scans every six months, plus annual imaging, blood tests and spinal taps.

Forbes first covered her in August 2019, and she received the United Nations Global Impact award in 2024.
