Northern Lights Alert: 10 States May See Aurora Sunday Night

NOAA issued a geomagnetic storm watch for Mar. 29–30 after a CME from an M3.9 solar flare may graze Earth's magnetic field.

A G1–G2 geomagnetic storm is likely and aurora could be visible in up to 10 northern U.S. states near the Canada border.

The CME is expected to arrive with a high-speed solar wind stream, and a bright waxing gibbous moon may make faint aurora harder to see.
