Threads adds "Live Chat" for real-time excitement during games

Meta is adding Live Chat to Threads, a public group chat for ongoing events and games.

The feature will debut in the NBA Threads community during the NBA playoffs, hosted by selected creators and public figures.

Live Chat will include live scores, polls, and countdowns, and stay searchable after the event ends.

Meta later plans to add cohosts, lock-screen widgets, and the ability to quote chat posts into the Threads feed.
