US firm’s high-tech unmanned boats that could decide battle outcome to be delivered to Navy

Textron Systems will provide multiple TSUNAMI uncrewed surface vessels to the U.S. Navy for a fleet experimentation event in Key West, Florida.

The boats will demonstrate autonomous operations and integration with other naval systems, including manned-unmanned teaming.

Textron will also supply support staff for the exercise, helping the Navy test the vessels in a real-world operational setting.

The award advances the Navy’s push for low-cost autonomous maritime platforms for surveillance and multi-mission use.
