U.S. Senators Demand Probe of Insider Stock and Derivatives Trading Ahead of Trump Policy Moves

Two Democratic senators asked the SEC and the Pentagon inspector general to investigate whether insiders traded on confidential information before Trump administration announcements.

Their letter cites reports of large equity and derivatives positions formed shortly before decisions on Iran, tariffs, and other matters.

The senators cited a Financial Times report about a broker linked to the Defense Secretary seeking a multimillion-dollar defense fund investment before an Iran escalation.

The Defense Department inspector general confirmed it is reviewing the letter while the SEC has not commented.
